colleague testimonials…
“Carey is an extremely talented and ethical clinician. She truly takes the time to make clients feel comfortable, understand their needs, and work collaboratively with them to meet their goals. I would seek services from her if she was not a close colleague!”
Rebecca Nemecek, LMFT

Her expertise in life transitions, and grief and loss, empowers her clients to regain hope and feel steady again. Carey is my go-to referral because I know clients will be in excellent hands. I can’t recommend Carey enough!”
Jessica Kwerel, LPC, LCPC
“Carey is a kind and compassionate human with so much empathy and insight to offer, especially for those who have experienced a faith crisis, are deconstructing, or have religious trauma. It’s been an honor cohosting the “Unburdened" podcast with her.”

about me
Hi, I’m Carey.
I believe we’re all capable of meaningful change—and that healing happens in safe, supportive spaces. My role is to listen and understand, help you clarify what you want, and then explore what is getting in the way.
I specialize in working with people navigating big life transitions—like coming out, divorce, faith shifts, etc. I’m especially passionate about supporting those healing from spiritual trauma, exploring LGBTQ+ identity and family dynamics, and women rebuilding life after divorce. I am a certified EMDR therapist and have worked with multiple victims of trauma and abuse, including survivors of the Las Vegas Route 91 shooting in 2017. Many of my clients are also managing chronic illness, grief, or the invisible weight of perfectionism and over-functioning. Together, we untangle these patterns often related to anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD—and work toward a more grounded and self-compassionate way forward.
As a marriage and family therapist, I support individuals, couples and families in strengthening their relationships. I also bring a trauma focused lens to my work and am EMDR certified.
So often, we find ourselves repeating patterns that no longer serve us. As Maya Angelou said, “I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.” It’s a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they grow, heal, and create something new.
